Volunteers are THE way everything we
have done, are doing, and will do
gets done!
Most folks have busy lives, often making it very difficult (even impossible) to know if there's time to volunteer on a specific day or at a specific time...
THE very reason for the creation of this page!
Members of the Top of the Common Committee always have some "project" going.
The preparations for or providing numerous events throughout the year to our community or the maintenance of and improvements to the historical structures on and around the Common. Additionally they serve in additional capacities within our community and in their personal lives. The help from
non-member volunteers are vital to accomplish all of this.
Many folks have the desire to help
out but hesitate to commit to specific days and times due to the unpredictable nature of their lives.
They do have some time but often it's not with much advance notice. So, this page has been created to facilitate the matching up of those available segments of time with activities that our members are doing at the same time.
Here's how it will work:

At the beginning of each week, the planned activities
along with the days and times
for that week will be posted at the top of this page. They will most often include an indoor
and
fair-weather project. The page will be update
promptly
of any changes (our lives also have unpredictable aspects!)
~ The
supplies for the activity will be provided.
~ Unless you have questions, there is no need to
(but feel free to!)
let anyone know you're coming -
just show up ready to join in. When you arrive, let us know how long you plan to stay.
~ There will be a general description of the tasks involved in the project so you can determine if it's something you'd like to/can do.
When you actually see the tasks, YOU will determine if it's a good fit. REALLY!
