Celebrating generations of our sugaring heritage
The Lunenburg 18th Annual Maple Festival, sponsored by the Top of the Common Committee with significant contributions by the Lunenburg Historical Society, was an enjoyable day for the many who came out to enjoy Lunenburg's celebration of our maple sugaring heritage. We had approximately 250 visitors! Students of the Lunenburg School
and local sugarmakers at their sugarhouses shared their sugaring experiences, the Lunenburg Polar Bears Club led the tapping demo, and crafts were offered at the Alden Balch library. The combined efforts of community members and generous local businesses and individuals made the day a great Vermont Maple Open House weekend event!
STUDENT POSTER CONTEST
The winner chosen in each grade was awarded a Happy Meal donated by Lancaster McDonald's. The Judge's Choice award was chosen from the six grade winners, also receiving a Sno-Cone Machine donated by Kinney Drugs of Saint Johnsbury.
